Hollyoaks’ Legendary Weekend in North Wales

Three Hollyoaks' actors, one Rownd a Rownd actor, three different counties, one year of legends!

Meet The Stars

Jessica Ellis

Jessica Ellis is probably better known as her character’s name, Tegan Lomax. Originally from Manchester, but now lives in Liverpool, Jessica loved every moment of her weekend in Gwynedd, Conwy and Anglesey. “There were so many best bits from the weekend, it’s really hard to condense them into one. My favourite activity was Zip World; you got to see so many sites and it was a thrill. But I also loved seeing the different areas of North West Wales.”

Luke Jerdy

Luke, the overall winner of the ‘Legendary Weekend in North Wales’, plays Jesse Donovan in the popular soap opera. Even though he excelled in most activities it’s the surfing that took his breath away. ‘The surfing was the most fun for me. I was dubious at first but then I really, really enjoyed it. The whole weekend has been epic; the zip line was also really fun!”

Nadine Mulkerrin

The Leeds actress, Nadine or Cleo McQueen to avid Hollyoaks fans took the weekend in her stride and was a close second for the weekender title. Even though she took a win with the Welsh cakes and the Castle Instagram challenge it was Llandudno Ski Centre that was top of her list. “I absolutely loved the snow tubbing the best; the spin of death was brilliant!”

Meilir Rhys Williams

Meilir, or Rhys the mechanic to Rownd a Rownd fans acted as the host throughout the two day extravaganza. “I have thoroughly enjoyed the weekend; even though I’m from North Wales, I haven’t taken advantage of everything Gwynedd, Conwy, Anglesey and beyond have to offer. I had an amazing time showing what our area has to offer to visitors and local people.”

Location, Location, Location

Fancy emulating the weekend? Then here’s where you need to go!

The weekend kicked off in Anglesey with surfing on Rhosneigr beach. The actors were well looked after by Gecko on Traeth Llydan (Broad Beach), an ideal location for surfing, paddle boarding, swimming, boating and so much more.

The surfing created quite an appetite, and where better to head to than The Oyster Catcher. Could you order your food in Welsh?

Over the bridge we head to Caernarfon Castle, where the might Dwynwen Dragon and her children Cariad and Dylan were staying. The famous four loved meeting the dragons and their selfies can be seen above or on their Instagram pages. The first day came to a close with a drink in The Victoria House B&B, Caernarfon, their five star accommodation for the weekend.

Day two continued in Snowdonia, Mountains and Coast area and headed down to Blaenau Ffestiniog to try the world famous Zip World Titan. The adrenaline filled race was quickly followed by a Welsh Cake lesson in Bodnant Welsh Food. Thankfully, the Welsh Cakes on sale here are not made by the actors!

The fun filled weekend came to an end in Conwy, and were better than on the Great Orme. Llandudno Ski & Snowboard Centre was the location and what fun they had! Fast speed race and the dreaded ‘spin of death’. Are you brave enough to try it?
