    Snowdonia Slate Trail

An 85 mile circular trail has just been launched, on which walkers can explore the slate areas in Snowdonia, and also gain a better understanding and appreciation of the slate heritage of the area. Starting at Porth Penrhyn near Bangor and ending at Bethesda, Snowdonia Slate Trail not only passes through the beautiful scenery of Snowdonia and the popular villages of Llanberis and Beddgelert , but also introduces the walker to lesser known villages such as Llanllechid, Bethesda, Dinorwig, Waunfawr, Nantlle, Rhyd Ddu, Croesor, Ffestiniog and Penmachno.

There is a wealth of variety on this exciting new trail which consists of 13 sections, have a look at the route on Snowdonia Slate Trail Map

Portmeirion Food and Craft Fair, 1-3 December

It’s the sixth anniversary of Portmeirion’s Food & Craft Fair, which has a stunning setting in the grounds of an Italianate village. The event stands out from other Christmas markets because most of the 120 stalls and chalets are offering local products (think Cwrw Llyn and the craftwork of Ann Catrin Evans). Enjoy live music, cookery demonstrations, workshops and a magical Christmas Grotto. New additions to the event this year include a giant gingerbread village and an elf dash - tickets available online or at the toll from November 2017. For more information go to Portmeirion Food and Craft Fair.
